Sioux Falls Post 15 East bounces back, Rapid City Post 22 comes up short in Central Plains Tournament

RAPID CITY — Sioux Falls Post 15 East bounced back from a first round loss, while Rapid City Post 22 was eliminated from tournament play at the American Legion Central Plains Regional Tournament on Thursday.

Sioux Falls Post 15 East raced past Moville, Iowa, 12-0. Lincoln Vasgaard took the win for Post 15 East, allowing zero runs on three hits in four innings, while striking out four.

Tristan Fitzsimmons led Post 15 East with two hits, while Cael Swanson led with three RBI, while Andrew Glovich and Fitzsimmons tallied two RBI each. Jack Smith, Ethan Bruns, and Dylan Rippentrop each added one RBI.

Sioux Falls Post 15 East will play Omaha, Nebraska or St. Michael, Minnesota, on Friday at 3:30 p.m. MT.

Rapid City Post 22 fell to Mankato, Minnesota by a score of 7-2. Lee Neugebauer led Post 22 on the mound, allowing six runs on five hits in four innings pitched, while striking out two.

Hayden Holec led Post 22 with two hits in three at bats, while Harrison Good and Wyatt Anderson each had one hit. Anderson also drove in one run. Post 22 was eliminated from the tourney.
