Lower Brule captures Lakota Nation Invitational boys title

RAPID CITY — Lower Brule captured its first state Lakota Nation Invitational title since 2004 on Saturday. 

The Sioux edged perennial power White River, 60-57, to claim the Oceti Sakowin boys basketball title. 

Keshaume Thigh tossed in 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds to pace the Sioux. Ellwyn Langdeau added 14 points and seven rebounds. Brian LaRoche Jr., who was named tournament MVP, added 12 points. Gary Lane finished with 11 points. 

White River’s Joe Sayler poured in 34 points on 11 of 23 shooting from the field, including 8 of 13 at the 3-point line He added six rebounds. Dylan Marshall scored 14 points.
