Winner/Colome 2, Alliance Neb. 1 

WINNER — Winner’s two runs in the bottom of the first inning ended up being the difference maker in a win on Saturday. 

Ethan Bartels picked up the win, pitching a complete game on 83 pitches. He gave up a run on three hits while striking out four and walking three. 

Aiden Barfuss and Ashton Klein had multiple hits to lead Winner at the plate. 

 

Volga 3, Garretson 1 

GARRETSON — Volga scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning to prevail to a victory on Saturday. 

Parker Puetz picked up the win for Volga, pitching a complete game — 94-pitch effort while allowing one run on three hits. He struck out 12. 

Puetz and Carson Christopherson led Volga at the plate with a pair of hits. 

 

Winner/Colome 9, Billings Expos 8 

WINNER — Winner held off a late inning Billings' rally to hold onto a win on Saturday.  

Winner/Colome jumped out to a 8-1 lead after four innings but watched as Billings added four runs in the fifth and three more to cut the lead to a run. 

Justin Hausmann got the start for Winner — pitching four innings while giving up four runs on four hits. He struck out four and walked four while throwing 66 pitches. 

 

Amatuer Baseball 

Platte Killer Tomatoes 9, Hartford/Humbolt Gamecocks 5 

HUMBOLT — Platte scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to break a 5-5 tie en route to a win on Saturday. 

Miles Hubers picked up the win pitching  1â…”  innings, giving up a hit and allowing two walks. 

Derek Soukup and Richard Sternberg each collected multiple hits to lead Platte at the plate.
