Winner/Colome Pheasants 20, Mount Vernon Mustangs 1 (6 innings)

MOUNT VERNON — Winner/Colome exploded for 11 runs in the sixth inning to put away Mount Vernon in Sunshine League amateur baseball action on Tuesday. 

The Pheasants erupted for 19 hits and four home runs in the victory. Austin Richey, Zach Harter, Brendan Kamerzell and Drew DeMers all smacked home runs. Richey finished with three hits and two RBI. Kamerzell drove in four runs, including a three-run homer.

Dillon Lambley and Austin Calhoon both had two hits, while Calhoon drove in three runs. Chandler Bakley, Oscar Pravacek and Evan Farner each had hits. Derek Graesser earned the win after striking out five batters, allowing six hits, one earned run and two walks in five innings. 

For Mount Vernon, Spencer Neugebauer, Chase Hetland, Bradley Dean, Eric Giblin, Briggs Havlik, Deric Denning and Austin Rearick each had hits. Kade Bialas took the loss after allowing eight hits, nine earned runs, three walks and three strikeouts in his five-inning start. 

Canova Gang 7, Hartford/Humboldt Woodducks 0

CANOVA — Canova blanked the Hartford/Humboldt Woodducks in a Cornbelt League amateur baseball game on Tuesday. 

Justin Miller drove in three runs, while Jared Miller hit a homer. Jason Miller, Derek Miller and Riley Genzlinger each had two hits. Kendall Gassman earned the win after a complete-game performance. 

Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels 8, Brookings Cubs 1

SIOUX FALLS — The Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels racked up 14 hits en route to a Tuesday amateur baseball win over the Brookings Cubs. 

Zach Dibble finished with three hits, while Dylane Ades, Connor Hurley, Christian Rasmussen and Trey Rogers each had two hits. Ades drove in three runs. Charlie Jensen earned the win after striking out eight batters, allowing seven hits, one earned and walking two batters in his 6.1-inning start. 

For Brookings, Evan Miller had two hits. Craig Lasley took the loss after allowing six runs on 10 hits, while striking out seven through 5.1 innings.
