Howard 48, Jones County 35 

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to lift Howard to a girls basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday. 

Howard’s Kate Connor recorded 15 points and five rebounds. Abby Aslesen added 10 points and 12 rebounds. Rylee Rudebusch logged 10 points and six rebounds. Canyon Kidd finished with five points. Trinity Palmquist added four points, four rebounds and four assists. 

Jones County’s Mallory Valburg finished with 18 points, 15 rebounds and three steals. Jadyn Jensen posted 10 points. Jolie Dugan added five points and five rebounds. 

 

Hamlin 63, Viborg-Hurley 46

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures to lead Hamlin to a girls basketball win over Viborg-Hurley at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday. 

Hamlin’s Kami Wadsworth finished with 25 points and four rebounds. Addison Neuendorf, Ally Abraham and Marissa Bawdon scored 10 points apiece. Abraham added 10 rebounds and eight assists. Brooklyn Brandriet scored eight points. 

Viborg-Hurley’s Denae Mach logged 18 points and five rebounds. Coral Mason recorded eight points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Charley Nelson scored seven points and Shelby Lyons logged six points.

Flandreau 58, Belle Fourche 39

MITCHELL — Claire Sheppard tossed in 30 points to pace Flandreau to a girls basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday. 

Sheppard finished 13 of 16 from the field and grabbed 11 rebounds. Lizzie Pavlis logged 16 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. Hannah Krull and Sadie Iott scored five points. Lily Klein added five assists. 

Belle Fourche’s Mataya Ward scored 11 points. Dylan Stedillie logged eight points, while Chloe Crago added seven points and seven rebounds. Grace Clooten had eight points. 

 

Sioux Falls Christian 37, St. Thomas More 32

MITCHELL — Sioux Falls Christian outlasted St. Thomas More for a girls basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday. 

Sioux Falls Christian’s Katie Vander Leest finished with eight points, while Peyton Poppema and Ellie Lems scored seven points apiece. Jaksyn Swift and Brenna Beyke scored six and five points, respectively. 

St. Thomas More’s Jada Mollman finished with 14 points, while Reese Ross recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds. Gabby Robbins finished with five assists.


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 53, Corsica-Stickney 38

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to lead Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a girls basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday. 

MVP’s Emilee Fox finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and six steals. Cally Faulhaber added 12 points and four rebounds. Reagan Rus recorded 10 points, while Kyia Schmidt tallied seven points, six rebounds and five steals. 

Corsica-Stickney’s Avery Broughton finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and four rebounds. Jacey Kemp added 10 points and four rebounds. Sutten Eide had seven points, while Payton DeLange logged five points. 


Wall 58, Dell Rapids St. Mary 46

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace Wall to a girls basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday. 

Wall’s Paige Kjerstad logged 16 points, 13 rebounds and four steals. Nora Dinger added 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Alexis Stephan had 13 points, while Rhea Tucker tallied eight points and 10 rebounds. 

Dell Rapids St. Mary’s Madala Hanson finished with 14 points and six rebounds. Ella Griffin recorded 11 points and nine rebounds. Brianna Griffin logged eight points and six rebounds. Maya Heintz had five points and six rebounds. 


Lyman 44, McCook Central/Montrose 40

MITCHELL — Mak Scott and Skyler Volmer combined for 26 points and 19 rebounds to pace Lyman to a girls basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday. 

Scott finished with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Volmer added 12 points and 14 rebounds. Kelsyn Wells posted eight points, while Annie Brakke logged five points and five rebounds. 

McCook Central/Montrose’s Michaela McCormick logged 16 points and 16 rebounds. Anna Reiffenberger finished with seven points, while Abby Wagner added six points and six rebounds. Aubree Kranz scored five points. 


Bridgewater-Emery 53, Pine Ridge 35

MITCHELL — Oakley Weber pumped in 23 points to pace Bridgewater-Emery to a girls basketball win over Pine Ridge at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday.

Weber added four 3-pointers. Hayden Hofer logged nine points, three rebounds and three assists. Shania Longe recorded seven points and six rebounds. Macie Weber posted five points and three rebounds. Lily Hilton grabbed six rebounds and scored three points. 

Pine Ridge’s Mollie Little netted 14 points and grabbed three rebounds. Angelina Runnels recorded 10 points and six rebounds. 


White River 47, Little Wound 21

MITCHELL — Maleena Brave and Lilly Krogman combined for 25 points to lead White River to a girls basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday.

Brave finished with 15 points and seven rebounds. Krogman added 10 points and eight rebounds. Skyler Krogman recorded seven points. Riley Lunderman finished with five points and five rebounds. LaQuita Baldock-Bottger added seven points and four rebounds. 

Little Wound’s Talyah Pourier recorded nine points and five steals. Lalanni Janis finished with six points and six rebounds. 


Gregory 50, Scotland 38

SCOTLAND — A balanced scoring attack helped Gregory to a win over Scotland in girls basketball action Friday. 

Asia VanDerWerff paced Gregory with 13 points and four rebounds. Cassidy Keiser finished with 11 points and six rebounds while Jessy VanDerWerff had eight points and 13 rebounds. 

Claire Janish led Scotland with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists. Martina De Boer had nine points and five rebounds while Bailey Vitek added nine points and five rebounds. 

 

Burke 62, North Central NE 51

BURKE — Adisyn Indahl and Elly Witt combined for 37 points as Burke picked up a win over North Central, NE in girls basketball action Friday. 

Indahl led all scorers with 22 points while adding four assists. Witt finished with 15 points and three steals. Paige Bull added eight points, five rebounds and four assists. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 49, Highmore-Harrold 35

WOONSOCKET — A balanced scoring attack helped Sanborn Central/Woonsocket pick up a win over Highmore-Harrold in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Liz Boschee paced the Blackhawks with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kailynn Eggleston added 13 points with Jaycee Baruth contributing 12 points.

Brooke Palmer led Highmore-Harrold with 11 points. Reghan Westcott added nine points while Kendall Cermak had six points. 


Hanson 57, Kimball/White Lake 27

ALEXANDRIA — Four players scored in double figures as Hanson earned a win over Kimball/White Lake in girls basketball action Friday. 

Taziah Hawkins led Hanson with 12 points while Erin Dewald added 11 points. Annalyse Weber and Alyssa Moschell both had 10 points for the Beavers. 

Ryann Nielsen led Kimbal/White Lake with ten points while Dani Deffenbaugh added 10 rebounds. 


Canistota 55, Chester Area 46

CANISTOTA — Three players scored in double figures as Canistota earned a win over Chester Area in girls basketball action Friday. 

Kayla Papendick led all scorers with 20 points. Natalie Becker added 13 points, 10 rebounds and three assists while Ellie Becker had 10 points and four rebounds. 

Emery Larson led Chester Area with 13 points. Jacy Wolf added 12 points and five rebounds while Kaylor Geraets chipped in with 10 points. 


Faulkton Area 42, Langford Area 26

LANGFORD — A big night from Paislee Martinmaas helped Faulkton Area earn a road win over Langford Area in girls basketball action Friday. 

Martinmaas hit five 3-pointers on her way to 22 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. Carlee Cotton added nine points for Faulkton Area. 

Megan Gustafson led Langford Area with 12 points and 11 rebounds. 


Ipswich 44, Sunshine Bible Academy 32

MILLER — A balanced scoring attack helped Ipswich earn a win over Sunshine Bible Academy in girls basketball action Friday. 

Gabby Wald finished with 18 points to lead Ipswich. Kaitlyn Bierman had nine points and seven rebounds while Karlie Weig added six points and four rebounds. 

Annaliese VanZee led Sunshine Bible Academy with 15 points. Abby Hinman added nine points for the Crusaders. 


Tea Area 66, Lennox 51

LENNOX — Katie Vasecka and Mara Grant combined for 45 points as Tea Area picked up a win over Lennox in girls basketball action Friday. 

Vasecka led the Titans with 23 points while Grant was right behind with 22 points. 

Dani Highum led Lennox with 15 points. Ryan Hanssen and Andie Peters each scored 14 points for Lennox. 

 

Harrisburg 38, Rapid City Central 22

RAPID CITY — A big night from Abigail Flanagan helped Harrisburg pick up a win over Rapid City Central in girls basketball action Friday. 

Flanagan finished with 20 points to power Harrisburg. Hannah Eide added nine points while Jayle Hofer scored six points for the Tigers. 

Leah Landry led Rapid City Central with 10 points and eight rebounds. 


Rapid City Stevens 50, Yankton 49

RAPID CITY — A big night from Taaliyah Porter helped Rapid City Stevens earn a win over Yankton in girls basketball action Friday. 

Porter led the Raiders with 20 points, 12 rebounds, an assist and two steals. Brittany Jones added nine points for Stevens while Macey Wathen and Izzy Higgins each scored six points. 

Macy Drotzmann led Yankton with 21 points and nine rebounds. Camryn Koletzky had nine points while Claire Tereshinski finished with eight points.
