Freeman 66, Platte-Geddes 55

PLATTE — Three players scored in double figures to power Freeman to a girls basketball win over Platte-Geddes on Tuesday.

Ashlin Jacobsen finished with 21 points and hit three 3-pointers. Cami Fransen added 19 points and Peyton McCune scored 17 points, including five 3-pointers. Rylee Peters added seven points.

For Platte-Geddes, Kori VanDerWerff tossed in 17 points. Karly VanDerWerff added 13 points, while Hadley Hanson had 10 points. Cadence Van Zee scored eight points.

Sully Buttes 65, Ipswich 30 

IPSWICH — Stevie Wittler stuffed the stat sheet in a season-opening win for the Sully Buttes girls basketball team on Tuesday.

Wittler tallied 32 points, eight assists, six rebounds and five steals. Payge Bakker added 18 points and six rebounds. Addison Chicoine recorded six points, six assists and four rebounds. 

For Ipswich, Gabby Wald scored 13 points. Anna Nierman added seven points. Kaylin Onken collected six rebounds.

Bridgewater-Emery 38, Scotland 23 

EMERY — Oakley Weber and Hayden Hofer combined for 23 points to pace Bridgewater-Emery to a girls basketball win over Scotland on Tuesday. 

Weber finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Hofer added seven points, while Summer Koch posted seven rebounds and five blocked shots. 

Scotland stats were not reported. 

Centerville 65, Canistota 38 

CENTERVILLE — Centerville used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a girls basketball win over Canistota on Tuesday. 

Centerville’s Althea Gust logged 16 points and Emma Marshall scored 14 points. Lillie Eide added nine points and Makayla Heesch had seven points. Keira Austin and Brea Austin scored six points apiece. 

For Canistota, Kayla Papendick had 14 points and eight rebounds. Natalie Becker had five points and six rebounds. Ellie Becker and Allison Leber collected seven rebounds apiece. 

Arlington 63, Howard 41

ARLINGTON — Four players scored in double figures to pace Arlington to a girls basketball win over Class B No. 4 Howard on Tuesday.

Arlington’s Addalyn Steffensen finished with 19 points, six rebounds and three steals. Jolyssa Steffensen added 14 points, five rebounds and four steals. Jaelyn Huntimer posted 13 points, while Harley Johnson added 11 points, four rebounds and three steals. Isabelle Steffensen had three points and seven rebounds.

Howard’s Abby Aslesen finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Elizabeth Albrecht scored nine points, while Ann Connor added six points.  

Chamberlain 44, Stanley County 25

FORT PIERRE — Chamberlain pulled away from Stanley County for a Tuesday high school girls basketball win.

Chamberlain’s Jayna Handel tossed in a game-high 21 points and Kinsey Evans added 18 points.

Stanley County’s Cadence Hand finished with nine points, while Kaysen Magee and Mattie Duffy added seven points apiece. 

Lennox 56, Dakota Valley 47

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Lennox to a girls basketball win over Dakota Valley. 

Dani Highum finished with 24 points and nine rebounds for the Orioles. Ryan Hanssen added 11 points, while Carli Kuyper posted 11 points and five boards. 

For Dakota Valley, Ella Otten had 18 points. Camerson Sommervold finished with nine points and 11 boards. Emerson Mead added nine points, six rebounds and four steals. 

Yankton 48, Huron 39 

HURON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Yankton to a girls basketball win over Huron on Tuesday. 

Yankton’s Claire Tereshinski posted 15 points, while Camryn Koletzky scored 11 points. Eden Wolfgram logged 10 points and Bailey LaCroix scored eight points.

For Huron, Hylton Heinz scored 13 points and Hamtyn Heinz added 11 points. Makenzie Siemonsma scored seven points.
