SIOUX FALLS — Viborg-Hurley flipped a 13-point halftime deficit into a four-point girls basketball win over Gregory on Thursday at the Hoop City Classic. 

Denae Mach led the Cougars with 15 points and four rebounds. Charley Nelson added 12 points and four rebounds. Shelby Lyons chipped in with eight points, while Delana Mach recorded six points and 11 boards. Estelle Lee added four points, six rebounds and three steals for the Cougars.

Gregory’s Jessy VanDerWerff tossed in 18 points and grabbed six rebounds. Cassidy Keiser, Gracie Kenzy and Mya Determan scored seven points apiece. Keiser and Kenzy grabbed five rebounds apiece. Brooklynn Kenzy finished with five points and 11 rebounds. 

Hamlin 69, Twin Cities Academy (Minn.) 53

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures to lead Hamlin to a boys basketball victory over Twin Cities Academy on Thursday at the Hoop City Classic. 

Tyson Stevenson finished with 22 points, five rebounds and four 3-pointers. Brennan Keszler added 19 points and six rebounds. Evan Stormo chipped in with 15 points and seven rebounds. Dawson Noem recorded six points, while Easton Neuendorf had six rebounds and seven assists. 

Twin Cities Academy’s Carrington McNeal and Carmelo McNeal scored 17 points apiece.

Enderlin (N.D.) 71, Canton 46

SIOUX FALLS — Twin brothers Joe Hurlburt and Gus Hurlburt powered Enderlin to a boys basketball win over Canton on Thursday at the Hoop City Classic. 

Joe Hurlburt finished with 25 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Gus Hurlburt added 18 points and 10 rebounds, while he also scored his 1,000th career point. Alijah Dixson finished with 13 points and nine rebounds. Carson Bartholomay had nine points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Canton’s Jacob Vande Weerd finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Derek Tieszen logged seven points and seven boards. Payton Eben added six points.

Brandon Valley 67, Thunder Basin (Wyo.) 66 (OT)

SIOUX FALLS — Five players scored in double figures as Brandon Valley edged Thunder Basin in a girls basketball contest on Thursday at the Hoop City Classic. 

Hilary Behrens led Brandon Valley with 18 points and four rebounds. Tessa Bowar and Kylie Foss scored 12 points apiece. Kennedi Deckert and Sidney Thue scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. Thue and Taylor Steemen grabbed five rebounds apiece. 

Thunder Basin’s Laney McCarty scored 20 points and added five rebounds. Joelie Spelts had a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double. Gabby Mendoza and Kinley Solem scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. McCarty and Mendoza hit three 3-pointers apiece. 

First Assembly Christian School (Tenn.) 56, Aberdeen Christian 40

SIOUX FALLS — First Assembly Christian School pulled away from Aberdeen Christian for a boys basketball win on Thursday at the Hoop City Classic. 

T.J. Thomas led FACS with 14 points, while Daniel Egbuniwe added 11 points and six rebounds. Alex Harris recorded 10 points and seven rebounds. 

Aberdeen Christian’s Ethan Russell and Malek Wieker scored 11 points apiece. Wieker added five rebounds and four assists. Jackson Isakson logged seven points. 

Thunder Basin (Wyo.) 54, Brandon Valley 53 (OT)

SIOUX FALLS — Deegan Williams and Ryan Baker paced Thunder Basin to a boys basketball victory over Brandon Valley on Thursday at the Hoop City Classic. 

Williams recorded 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Baker added 15 points, all from the 3-point line. Ethan Cox finished with eight points. 

Brandon Valley’s Josh Olthoff tossed in a game-high 20 points and collected six rebounds. Nate Vandeberg finished with 11 points and eight boards. Max VanWesten and Riley Miller scored six points apiece. Dylan Langerock had eight rebounds, while Lukas Morgan had five rebounds and four points. 

St. Thomas More 43, Houston (Tenn.) 35

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No. 3 St. Thomas More topped Houston in a boys basketball contest on Thursday at the Hoop City Classic.

Caleb Hollenbeck paced the Cavaliers with 15 points and nine rebounds. Cade Kandolin added 14 points and four boards. Ian Clewley finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Jordan Uhlir collected eight rebounds and Ethan Burnett dished out five assists. 

Houston’s Brock Vice scored eight points and grabbed 21 rebounds. Kameron Clark scored 11 points and collected seven rebounds. Anthony McKinley added six points.
