Howard 56, Freeman Academy/Marion 53

SIOUX FALLS — Howard held off Freeman Academy/Marion in a boys basketball contest Wednesday at the Sanford Pentagon. 

Brayden Hinker led the Tigers with 13 points and six rebounds. Luke Koepsell added 10 points, six rebounds and six assists. Ryder Erickson followed with nine points, while Jace Sifore had eight points and 10 rebounds. Kolt Koepsell and Will Maier scored six and five points, respectively. 

FAM’s Donte Butler finished with 15 points, while Thalen Schroeder logged 11 points, four steals and four rebounds. Connor Epp added 10 points, seven boards and four assists. Quincy Blue posted nine points, five rebounds and four assists. Matthew Hagen added six points and four rebounds.

Mitchell 85, Campbell County (Wyo.) 81

MITCHELL — Caden Hinker and Steele Morgan powered Mitchell to a boys basketball win over Campbell County on Wednesday at the Corn Palace. 

Hinker led the Kernels with 28 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Morgan added 20 points and 10 boards. Macon Larson tossed in 15 points, while Dylan Soulek had 13 points and eight rebounds. Gavyn Degen scored five points.

Campbell County’s Jason Fink and Rylan Robertson scored 18 points apiece. Robertson drilled six 3-pointers, while Campbell County hit 17 of 26 3-point attempts on the night. Mason Drube added 15 points and Austin Crimm scored 14 points. Logan Dymond netted eight points. Crimm and Fink hit four 3-pointers apiece. 


Houston (Tenn.) 75, Sioux Falls Jefferson 66

SIOUX FALLS — Houston rallied for a boys basketball victory over Sioux Falls Jefferson on Wednesday at the Sanford Pentagon. 

Kameron Clark led the Mustangs with 19 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Brock Vice netted 18 points and grabbed 12 boards. Mavrick Miller added 12 points and 10 boards. Ryan Mitchell scored 13 points, while Kylan Clark added 11 points and seven rebounds. 

Jefferson’s Kaden Year had 17 points and seven rebounds. Griffin Wilde and Taylen Ashley scored 13 points apiece. Ashley dished out nine assists and added five rebounds. Mason Riley finished with 14 points, six boards and five steals. Beau Giblin added five points. 


Thunder Basin (Wyo.) 57, Houston (Tenn.) 52

SIOUX FALLS — Deegan Williams recorded a double-double to pace Thunder Basin to a boys basketball win over Houston on Wednesday at the Sanford Pentagon. 

Williams finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Cade Ayers added 10 points, while Bodie Williams had six points. Ryan Baker tossed in nine points. 

Houston’s Brock Vice had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Mavrick Miller logged 10 points and eight rebounds. Kameron Clark and Ethan Phillips scored nine points apiece. 


Thunder Basin (Wyo.) 61, Elk Point-Jefferson 39

SIOUX FALLS — Laney McCarty and Kambel Cox combined for 24 points to pace Thunder Basin to a girls basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Wednesday at the Sanford Pentagon. 

McCarty finished with 14 points and four steals. Cox added 10 points, while Joelie Spelts finished with eight points and seven rebounds. Attie Westbrook added eight points and Risa Pilon scored six points. 

EPJ’s Kaitlyn VanRoekel finished with nine points. Nora Kastning tossed in five points. 


Lennox 66, Garretson 43

SIOUX FALLS — Porter Ihnen’s double-double paced Lennox to a boys basketball win over Garretson at the Sanford Pentagon on Wednesday.

Ihnen finished with 23 points and 13 boards. Conner Eich finished with 15 points and five rebounds. Talan Diercks had eight points and Jaxon Plank scored six points. 

Garretson’s Dylan Kindt scored 15 points, while Cooper Long had 10 points and six rebounds. Rhett Kloth finished with eight points and Cadyn Ockenga had six points. 


First Assembly Christian School (Tenn.) 71, Sioux Falls Christian 57

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures to lead First Assembly Christian School to a boys basketball win over Sioux Falls Christian on Wednesday at the Sanford Pentagon. 

TJ Thomas led the way with 21 points, 11 assists and five steals. Daniel Egbuniwe had 16 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Alex Harris finished with 11 points. 

Sioux Falls Christian’s Brooks Nelson and Logan Schipper scored 15 points apiece. Tayton Snyder added eight points, while Nathan Koole and Ethan Bruns scored five points apiece. Bruns grabbed six boards.
